You: The girl with dark hair and headphones walking her black-and-white pit bull in Tucson.
Me: Confused.
A few months ago, I was walking my dog and saw your pit bull poop. You knelt down and started picking at the grass next to it for quite a while. I asked if you needed a bag, and you said no because it was too wet to pick up.
With your bare hands?!
I think I said something along the lines of, "Well, you should try, because that's gross," but honestly, I didn't know what else to say because I wasn't even sure what I had just witnessed, so I walked away.
As fate would have it, I saw your dog pooping again this morning. This time, I watched you kneel down and cover it with surrounding leaves.
At first, I was grossed out and annoyed. Now, I'm just confused and a bit amused because it seems you have a distinct M.O. when it comes to your dog's waste. Is it a territorial thing? Is it not far more disgusting to get that close to poop bare-handed than to simply use a bag?
Then again, maybe I'm the weirdo for stopping to see what you'd do with your dog's poop this time.
The offer still stands: if you need bags, please reply to this post and I will gladly give you an entire box. They're very inexpensive and significantly more sanitary than your current strategy!
