Did you lose a ham?
Perhaps a rogue javelina broke into your kitchen, dragged it off the counter where it was cooling, and then abandoned it because it was overly salty. Or maybe you and some scenesters you just met were snacking on it during the Fourth Avenue Street Fair, but when you woke up Monday morning next to the trash cans off 4th Ave, it was gone. Honestly, I'm not sure of all the possible scenarios under which someone in Tucson accidentally misplaces an entire ham.
It’s definitely in worse shape than it was when I saw it last night—probably due to the desert dust, the heat, or a random stray dog taking a few test bites. The browned fat on the outside isn't looking quite as deliciously crispy this morning. It’s a bone-in ham (not sure if that’s clear from the photo), and while someone has definitely been picking at it, there’s still some serious meat left on the bone. Looks like it was absolute top-tier holiday feast material in its prime.
Anyway, it's currently laying on the woodchips right between the Tucson Convention Center area and the sidewalk. I'm sure you'll be immensely relieved to know its exact location so you can be reunited.
